Nathaniel T. Blama, Sr. was born in the city of Monrovia, Republic of Liberia, he was a contestant for the Senatorial seat for Montserrado County in 2014, he also served as Assistant Secretary General for the Liberian National Union (LINU) in 2009-2011.

He holds a Masters degree in Public Administration, with emphasis in Public Policy Process from the Graduate School of Studies at the University of Liberia; he earned a Certificate of Completion in Strategic Management of Regulatory and Enforcement Agencies, from the Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Executive Education Program in Boston, USA.  He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree (with Honors) in Public Administration from the A. M. E. Zion University in Monrovia.  

He earned several other Certificates in Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, Strategic Environmental Assessments, Environmental Monitoring and Environmental Management from Liberia and abroad including the University of Cape Town in South Africa;

Currently, he is private businessman serving as General Manager for Global Construction and Mechanical Company, Inc., Managing Partner for Planet Management Services, Inc. a consultancy firm and He is also a founding member of Constantine International Corporation (CIC).

He worked the Environment Protection Agency of Liberia (EPA) for 2008- 2014; at the EPA, he served in several positions, including; Chief Technical Advisor and Program Coordinator for the UNDP/GOL, Energy and Environment Program; Deputy Executive Director, a.i.; Administrative Assistant and Chief of Staff in the office of the Executive Director, Project Manager and Planning Officer among others.  He served as a part of the Technical Review Team at the EPA that reviews and validated submissions as they relate to Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) reports.

He served as a member of the Liberian negotiating team on Multilateral Environmental Agreements, (MEAs), participating in the development of international legal instruments; he has also represented Liberia at several international conferences, including: The African Ministerial Conference on the Environment; The UNSG Summit of Climate Change, Conference of the Parties (COPs); Technical Meetings; Capacity Building programs and Negotiation Meetings.

He worked with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) for 3 years where he served in several capacities; including, Field Mobility and Logistics Officer, Administrative and Logistics Officer and Operations Assistant.
